Lyon Village Citizens’ Association
Brought the Lyon Village Citizens’ Association’s online presence back to life by redesigning their website from scratch on Squarespace.
For the Lyon Village Community Association, I designed a comprehensive, 8-page website built to streamline neighborhood operations while celebrating its distinct local character. Working closely with board member Loria Porcaro, I translated community feedback and administrative requirements into a functional digital hub. I selected Squarespace as the primary platform and integrated robust systems for secure dues payment, a weekly community listserv, and a fully organized, digital archive of neighborhood newsletters dating back to 2008.
The visual identity was designed to feel playful yet grounded, capturing an eye-catching aesthetic that resonates with residents of all ages. The color palette draws direct inspiration from the neighborhood itself: a lush green nodding to the central park, and a vibrant orange honoring the Metro line connecting the village to D.C., as well as the iconic brick facade of the Lyon Village shopping center. To ensure the site remains fully usable for every neighbor, web accessibility was prioritized from the start, with every selected color strictly passing WCAG AA and AAA accessibility standards.
